What are Additional Categories?
This feature is only really suited to authors that sell a large number of products, it allows customers to more easily browse through products by selecting filter tags or searching within an author's store page.
Lets assume your store sells sports videos and your categorizing a golfing video therefore you've selected Video > Sports > Golf as your main product category, here are some good and bad examples of Additional Categories filter tags...
- Club Selection
- Powerful Swing
If you had 100 products for sale and 10 were tagged with 'Club Selection', customers could simply click the 'Club Selection' filter tag and only see those tagged products.
- Learn to play golf
These are all too generic and won't aid customers in filtering your products.
Important note:- Additional Categories are not to be used to add keywords like you'd typically add to aid your content being found on search engines. If we see that author's have done this we will remove the tags entered as they will serve no purpose to the customer.
We hope this explains the use of Additional Categories but if you have any questions at all don't hesitate to get in-touch using the form below.
